WINNEX pickleball paddle FAQ: frequently asked questions about custom pickleball paddle manufacturing, MOQ, sampling, materials and lead times

Pickleball Paddle OEM Questions, Answered — WINNEX FAQ

Ordering & MOQ

Our minimum order quantity depends on how much customisation you need:

  • Prototype / sample: from 1 paddle, so you can test the feel before committing.
  • Existing mould, your graphics: from 100 paddles per design.
  • New mould required: from 300–500 paddles per design, since the tooling is built specifically for you.
  • Full private-label programme with custom packaging: typically from 500 paddles.

If your target volume is lower than these numbers, tell us anyway — we can often fit a small trial run into an existing production slot.

The process is straightforward and we keep you informed at every stage:

  • 1. Inquiry: you send your specification, quantity and timeline through our contact form, email or WhatsApp.
  • 2. Quotation: we reply within 24 hours with pricing, options and a realistic lead time — usually within 1–3 business days for complex specs.
  • 3. Sample: we produce a prototype for your approval, typically 7–15 days after artwork is confirmed.
  • 4. Approval & deposit: once you sign off the sample, we confirm the order and begin production on receipt of deposit.
  • 5. Production & QC: we manufacture, inspect each batch and send you photos or video before packing.
  • 6. Shipping: we arrange export cartons and ship by sea, air or express according to your preference.

Yes — private label is the majority of what we do. Your logo and artwork go on the paddle face, the grip, the edge guard, the cover and the retail box, and there is no WINNEX branding anywhere on the finished product or its packaging.

We can also supply neutral cartons and blank hang tags if you prefer to apply your own labels in your warehouse, and we can print UPC or EAN barcodes to your specification.

Sampling & Customisation

Almost everything that affects how the paddle plays and how it looks:

  • Core: polypropylene or Nomex honeycomb, PU or EVA foam, 8–16 mm thick.
  • Face: carbon fibre (3K, 12K, 18K twill), fibreglass or Kevlar® blend, with grit or spray texture.
  • Construction: cold-pressed, thermoformed or edgeless.
  • Shape: standard, wide-body, elongated or a fully custom silhouette from a new mould.
  • Weight & balance: 7.2–8.6 oz, head-heavy through head-light.
  • Grip: cushion, tacky or perforated, custom colour and circumference.
  • Graphics: UV print, silk screen, water transfer or sublimation.
  • Packaging: paddle cover, carry bag, retail box, hang tag and carton marks.

Samples are charged at a unit price plus shipping, because a prototype consumes real production time and materials. Where a new mould has to be cut, that tooling cost is quoted separately.

In most cases we credit the sample cost back against your first bulk order, so the sampling stage effectively costs you nothing once you proceed. Ask us for the specific terms when you request your quote.

Absolutely. Send us a technical drawing, a 3D file, or simply post us a physical sample paddle and we will reverse-engineer the geometry, weight distribution and surface feel. Our engineers then produce a specification for your approval before any tooling is cut.

If you have no reference at all, describe the playing characteristics you want — more power, more control, quieter, lighter — and we will recommend a starting configuration from our existing mould library.

Materials & Performance

Honeycomb core paddles use a PP or Nomex hexagonal grid. They are the power benchmark — crisp, loud and fast off the face, and the most common choice for performance lines.

Foam core paddles replace the honeycomb with PU or EVA foam. They feel quieter and more dampened, with a larger effective sweet spot, which suits control-focused and indoor players.

Edgeless paddles remove the plastic edge guard entirely. That gives a slightly larger hitting surface for the same overall footprint and cleaner aerodynamics through the swing, at the cost of exposing the paddle perimeter to knocks.

We manufacture all three, plus combinations, so we can advise on the trade-offs for your specific price point and target player.

We manufacture paddles to USA Pickleball-aligned specifications — the dimensional, surface-roughness and deflection requirements that the governing body tests against. Whether a specific model is submitted for formal approval is a decision made with the brand owner, because approval is registered against your brand and model name, not ours.

In practice this means: for private-label programmes we build the paddle so that it is eligible for submission, and we support your application with the specification documentation and test data you need. For recreational and club lines where tournament approval is not required, we build to the same production standards without the submission cost.

If tournament legality is essential to your launch, tell us at inquiry stage and we will confirm exactly what is achievable for your design.

Yes, and this is one of the main reasons to work with a factory rather than a trading company. We weigh-check units during assembly and hold core thickness to approximately ±0.2 mm, with finished paddle weight maintained inside a tolerance band we agree with you upfront.

Because we produce our own cores and press in-house, we are not at the mercy of a supplier's batch variation — the hundredth order feels like the first.

Certification & Quality

Every batch passes four inspection stages before it is packed:

  • Dimensional: length, width, thickness, grip circumference and weight against the approved specification.
  • Bonding: face-to-core adhesion checks to catch delamination before it reaches your customer.
  • Surface: texture consistency, print registration and colour match against your artwork.
  • Performance: sample testing for feel, deflection and durability.

We keep batch traceability records and will supply inspection reports with your shipment on request.

Yes. Depending on your market we can provide product specification sheets, batch inspection reports, material declarations and, where required, third-party test reports from accredited laboratories covering relevant toy, chemical or sporting goods standards.

Tell us at inquiry stage which marketplaces or jurisdictions you sell into — for example Amazon, or the EU and UK — and we will confirm the documentation package and any certification costs involved.

Contact us with photographs and the batch reference as soon as you identify the issue. Where a defect is traced to our manufacturing, we replace the affected units in your next shipment or issue a credit, according to the terms agreed on your order.

Because we keep traceability records, we can identify which production run a paddle came from and correct the root cause rather than just replacing product.

Production & Lead Times

Typical timings, counted from confirmation of your artwork and receipt of deposit:

  • Sample / prototype: 7–15 days.
  • New mould tooling: 2–4 weeks, depending on complexity.
  • Bulk production on an existing mould: 15–30 days depending on quantity.
  • Custom packaging: add 1–2 weeks if printed boxes or bags are required.

We confirm a specific lead time in writing with your quotation, and we tell you immediately if anything threatens it.

Our production capacity at the Dongguan facility is approximately 100,000 paddles per month running two shifts. That covers everything from small trial runs to container-scale programmes.

Because we operate two production bases, we can also balance larger orders across sites to protect your delivery date, and we can offer alternative country-of-origin for markets where that matters.

Yes, we welcome factory visits at our Dongguan facility. Contact us in advance with your preferred dates and we will arrange access, an interpreter if needed and a walkthrough of the production line.

If you cannot travel, we can arrange a live video walkthrough of your order during production, and we welcome third-party inspection agencies acting on your behalf.

Shipping & Payment

We ship worldwide and can quote on EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP or DDU terms depending on how much of the logistics chain you want us to handle.

  • Sea freight: most economical for bulk orders; transit typically 20–40 days depending on destination.
  • Air freight: 5–10 days for urgent or mid-size orders.
  • Express courier: 3–7 days for samples and small trial runs.

We can also ship directly to a third-party fulfilment warehouse and provide carton marks and labels to your specification.

Our standard terms are 30% deposit to begin production, with the balance payable before shipment. For repeat customers we can discuss more flexible arrangements.

We accept T/T bank transfer. Other methods can be discussed at quotation stage depending on your location and order value.
